Goodreads Hot July Days story is up!

The Goodreads M/M Readers had a prompt picture extravaganza: people chose a picture, wrote a little letter imagining some background for it, and authors volunteered to write a story. My pic was from Thorny, his letter most touching, and I hope I’ve done it justice.

Dear Author,

Everyone keeps telling me I’m too young to really know what I want or who I am yet. Give it time, don’t be rash. But it’s all just noise — just blah blah blah — when I see him.

He’s older, wiser, experienced and he makes me melt every time he looks at me. He’s what I want and his boyfriend is who I am. Well, I’m hoping that’s where tonight will lead, anyway. I’m going to do my damnedest to seduce him, to show him I can give him the sweet and tender I’m betting he needs.

He spends his days being tough and confident, but I know there’s a marshmallow angel inside him. I can take care of him. I can. Even if I’ve never done anything like this before. I have to try.

Sincerely,

Thorny

The story is “The Boy Next Door” and it’s posted at Goodreads. You do have to be a member to view this forum, where it has to remain exclusively for a bit, but if you aren’t a member already, why not? It’s a great bunch and they discuss our favorite sort of literature!

  1. Looking forward to reading this – although it might be after it’s non-exclusive. 🙂

  2. Hi, I just read Boy next door and I loved it. Though I’d love to read more about the two men. Are you thinking of elaborate their relationship? I’d like to see where this will be going, what will become of Kyle and what will he bring into Raymonds life.

    • I am so glad you enjoyed the story! I had considered expanding their story, but I have several projects that need to be finished first. The Rare Event is in edits, I have a couple of cyclists currently stranded 20k words into their story, a couple of rangers in peril three times over, and then I can take a good look at Kyle and Raymond again. My “to be written” pile is almost as high as my “to be read” pile.
