It’s hard to get me to laugh until my sides hurt and tears are rolling down my cheeks, but damned if the Federal Trade Commission didn’t achieve just that.
The company I work for has been the target of a hostile takeover attempt, which has had us in a state of unrest for several months now. On Friday, the long awaited FTC ruling was unveiled, and we could all breathe a sigh of relief. Why it took so long is a mystery to me, since I read the ruling on our hostile suitor’s last acquisition, and those conditions no longer apply, but that’s a separate rant.
Wanting to see the good news in the original language, I pulled up the FTC document on line, reading this and that about restraint of trade and market share. Yes, good, fine, someone’s used good sense, thank G-d, and here’s the ruling: the FTC is blocking the acquisition.
And at the bottom of this official government document: Like the FTC on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
LOL! Probably the hostile takeover people will be flagging the FTC on Facebook instead of liking them…
I imagine so, but possibly Facebook will think twice about delisting them.
I’ve noticed the “like” button on the weirdest sites, but that takes the cake!
I was floored, let me tell you.
