Eden Winters and I were in New York last weekend for the Dreamspinner seminar on publishing and the Rainbow Book Fair. We bought too many books (well, no such thing but they do get heavy after the third mile on foot), had a great time with such amazing people as Carole Cummings, Ariel Tachna, Rowan Speedwell, and Damon Suede.
Carole autographed my copy of Aisling Book 1: Guardian! Okay, I can be a total fan girl, but this is such a good story. Eden Winters signed my copy of Settling the Score but I didn’t have the camera in hand. *wibble* Okay, I was too busy saying, “Woo, a Lambda Award Finalist signing her book for me!” I SAID I can be a total fan girl, okay?
We went to the Rainbow Book Fair the next day, where we bought more books, met fabulous authors, talked with people whose names I’ve only seen on line, and erm, bought more books. Next year I’m bringing a cardboard box to ship them all home. I didn’t work the Fair, that wouldn’t have been fair to the authors who had their books on the table, and The Rare Event only became available for sale yesterday. (There’s J. Hennig, Carole Cummings, Eden Winters, Andrew Grey, and Zahra Owens getting ready for the readers.)
More tales of adventures to come tomorrow!
Ha! Why is Eden smirking in that picture? I wanna know!
I thought it was because Eden was thinking “I already have my copy of Wolf’s Own!”
I can’t believe I bought so many books! I was like the proverbial kid in the candy store. And since arriving home, I’ve arranged to get other books that I didn’t pick up at the fair.
Carole, I can’t remember what it said right now, but someone walked by with an amusing slogan on their Tshirt.
Gee we had a good time.
You can never have too many books..It looks like you guys had a fantastic time…Thank you for sharing the pics…
I have more!
Sounds and looks like a blast!!
It was a good time, definitely. So many books, so little time…
I would have been like you too many books to take home. Glad you had fun. 🙂
I need a year off just to get through my TBR pile.
