Hitting the Change button

Thanks to all of you who are reading this: you’ve stuck around while I had a couple of very rough years. I haven’t talked about it much in public–you guys don’t need to hear me moan.

But it has been the kind of time where a friend advised me to “take the big round sapphire and put it BACK into the idol’s head where you found it.”

I’m trying, believe me, I’m trying.  The 10,000 spiders that just fell on my head are affecting my depth perception, though, so things aren’t quite back to normal.  Getting there.

One change that affects you guys is my relationship with Dreamspinner. To everything, there is a season, and most of my contracts with them have come due. Rights to all my books have come back to me, so the books are down now, aside from some paperback listings that never go away.

What does that mean for you and me? New cover art, for one, and new listings at all the retailers, and new links all over this blog. It will be a lot of work, but it will also be a lot of good stuff happening. The stories will be back, and will bring friends with them to Rocky Ridge Books.

Most of all, it will mean more Kurt and Jake stories. I’m jazzed to finish so many of the projects lurking on my hard drive. In fact, I’m going to a writer’s retreat this weekend, where my main project will be the “Kurt and Jake go to Detroit for Thanksgiving” story.  We had an ominous “you need to talk to Dad and Gramps yourself” scene in Blood on the Mountain. I thought you might like to see how that plays out.

Needs a title though. Have an idea?

Hugs to everyone! Stick around: there are good things to come.
